The North Central Michigan Community Foundation (NCMCF) is accepting applications for its 2025 competitive scholarship program. Current and former graduates of high schools in Crawford, Ogemaw and Oscoda Counties, as well as homeschooled graduates from those counties are invited to apply.
Many of the scholarship opportunities available through NCMCF depend upon the high school from which a student is graduating, the college they plan to attend, or their planned field of study. Additionally, some scholarships are for students who have already graduated from high school, non-traditional students, and for those planning to attend a certificate program or trade school. To be eligible, students must complete the application by March 1, 2025.
A scholarship that is being awarded for the first time this year comes from the Judy Lezotte Scholarship Fund. The award is for graduates (of any year) of Ogemaw Heights High School for any area of study at any college or university. The Fund was created in 2023 at NCMCF by family and friends as a memorial to Judy Lezotte, who was owner and operator of many McDonald’s restaurants in West Branch and the surrounding communities and was also a very active community member.
Scholarships must be applied for directly through the Community Foundation’s online platform. Students applying for awards will complete one online application and will be considered for any scholarship for which they are eligible.
Those from the NCMCF service area should visit the “Scholarships” section of the Community Foundation’s website at ncmcf.org and look for a green piggy bank image to apply for scholarships from their region.
Scholarships awarded durirg the 2025 competitive scholarship program are for the 2025-26 academic year and are paid directly to the educational institution the student will be attending.
