The Iosco County Community Foundation (ICCF) welcomes Amy Peterman, of East Tawas, to its Board of Directors.
Peterman is currently Senior Vice President, Head of Retail Banking at Huron Community Bank (HCB), providing oversight of HCB’s eight branches. Originally from Rockford, Mich., she was recruited to work for HCB in 2016, moving to East Tawas with her husband, Jason, and two children.
Peterman says she loves the spirit of volunteerism in Iosco County, and as the strong leadership and nonprofit organizations she sees working to make Iosco’s communities a better place to live, work, and play. After attending some ICCF events, it seemed a natural fit for her to begin serving Iosco County through the Community Foundation.
“I attended two ICCF events in 2024 - the Citizen of the Year dinner and fundraising for the Tawas Career Development Coordinator position. Listening to the presenters at each event, especially Mary Jeanne Klenow, created awareness of the significant impact that ICCF makes in Iosco County,” said Peterman. “I have a heart for education and serving. Mary Jeanne’s presentation moved me to want to be a part of this incredible organization that touches many areas of Iosco County, serving the needs of today and preparing for our future through scholarships, grants and endowments.”
Peterman also serves on the Tawas Area Education Foundation (TAEF) Board as its Treasurer, and on the Michigan Bankers Association Perry School of Banking Board of Trustees.
“We are pleased to have Amy join our great team of leaders from across Iosco County,” says Community Foundation Development and Marketing Director, Christine Hitch. “This foundation holds over $8.7 million in community assets benefitting Iosco County. Its board is represented by individuals who have a passion for service and an appreciation for ICCF’s vital role in their communities’ present and future. This is so important, and Iosco County will benefit because of it.”
Other ICCF Board members include Cliff C. Miller (Board President), Kelly Alexander, Mark Fore, Timothy Haskin, Andrew Johnson, Tony Ommani, Malia Robb, and Liam Strauer.
The Iosco County Community Foundation is a charitable organization committed to providing people who care about the future of our area with unique and effective ways of supporting their community now, and for generations to come. Led by a volunteer board of local citizens, the foundation oversees a group of permanently endowed funds from a wide range of donors. Gifts of all sizes from individuals, families, businesses, and agencies are invested in a balanced, well-managed portfolio to build endowments, enabling support for local community nonprofits now and forever. ICCF is an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan.
