The Iosco County Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) recently awarded eleven new grants totaling $16,000 to area nonprofits for programs and projects that benefit area youth. The Iosco County Community Foundation (ICCF) Board of Directors approved the YAC’s grant recommendations on March 26, 2025.
- $2,500 to Ana's Treasures for the 2025 Ana's Essentials Program project.
- $2,250 to COOR/Iosco Great Start Collaborative for the Float Safe project.
- $368 to Friends Together for the Friends Together - Children's Grief and Loss Books project.
- $2,500 to Harbor Church for the “My Church Loves You” project.
- $2,250 to Huron Hockey and Skating Association for the New Rental Skates project.
- $2,500 to Iosco County Coats for Kids for the Keeping Kids Warm project.
- $2,500 to Northern Michigan Children's Assessment Center for the Community Outreach project.
- $632 to Pegasus Springs Therapeutic Riding Center for the “Next Step - Addressing Anxiety & Depression in our Community” project.
- $500 to Tawas Area Schools for the Tawas Area Schools Memorial Garden project.
The Iosco County YAC is a group of young people aged 12 to 21 from Iosco County. Working with adult advisors, these youth work to improve the lives of other children in the community through the allocation of grant money. With initial funding support by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, YAC teaches young people the importance of philanthropy through community service, leadership and grantmaking.
The next deadline for grant opportunities through ICCF is with the Community Improvement Grant. Applications are due May 1, 2025. Nonprofits, schools, government agencies, and churches interested in applying for a Community Improvement Grant can access the guidelines and online application at iccf-online.org.
