The North Central Michigan Community Foundation (NCMCF) recently awarded 16 new grants totaling $25,882 to local nonprofits for programs and projects benefiting residents of Crawford, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties. The NCMCF Board of Trustees approved the 2024 Community Impact Grants on August 20.
Grants awarded include:
- $2,337 to the AuSable Artisan Village for their Expanding Arts & Culture Experiences for Crawford County Youth project.
- $2,500 to the Crawford County Commission on Aging for the Grayling Community Garden ADA Compliant Garden Beds project.
- $2,000 to the Grayling Cooperative Preschool to support the Imagination Library.
- $1,000 to the Northern Michigan Children's Assessment Center for Community Outreach & “Kids Have Rights” materials project.
- $1,500 to the City of West Branch for the Music in the Park project.
- $2,500 to the Fresh Start Club West Branch for the Fresh Start Club Handicapped Accessible Bathroom project.
- $500 to the Friends of the Deer Refuge for the Nature Park Meeting Hall Renovation project.
- $1,000 to the Max-Well Therapy Center for their Heating Unit for Indoor Arena project.
- $1,000 to the Pegasus Springs Therapeutic Riding Center for their Project - Resilient Youth project.
- $3,315 to Rayola Inc. for the Ogemaw and Oscoda County Foster Children Care Packages 2024-25 projects.
- $1,000 to the West Branch Rose City Schools for the Hudl Baseball and Softball Streaming Cameras project.
- $2,500 to the Fairview Area Schools for the From the Roots Up project.
- $740 to the His Love Family Resources for their His Love Family Resources 20 Year Celebration project.
- $2,500 to the Northern Michigan Children's Assessment Center for Community Outreach & Education project.
- $1,490 to the Oscoda County Library for their Fall Fun Fest project.
Funding for the NCMCF Community Impact Grants come from the Crawford County Community Needs Endowment Fund, Ogemaw County Community Needs Endowment Fund, Oscoda County Community Needs Endowment Fund and Monnie Orr Memorial Fund. Funding for some health-related grants also comes from the Crawford, Ogemaw and Oscoda Tobacco Settlement Funds, as well as the Ogemaw County Health Care Initiative Fund and Oscoda County Health Care Initiative Fund.
