The North Central Michigan Community Foundation (NCMCF) recently awarded 14 new grants totaling $23,534 to local nonprofits for programs and projects benefiting residents of Crawford, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties. The NCMCF Board of Directors approved the 2025 Community Impact Grants on August 19, 2025.
Grants awarded include:
- $6,204 to Northern Michigan Children's Assessment Center to educate Crawford, Ogemaw, and Oscoda County children on body safety rules and what to do if those rules are broken.
- $4,500 to Rayola Inc. to provide care packages for children in foster care in Ogemaw and Oscoda counties.
- $2,500 to Ogemaw Hills Community of Caring for continuous glucose monitoring systems for patients.
- $2,000 to Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan to support the Girl Scouts program in Ogemaw County
- $2,000 to Michigan State Police to provide Christmas presents for foster care and recently adopted children.
- $1,478 to Whispering Hope Ranch Ministries to allow children to attend the 2026 summer horseback riding day camp.
- $1,342 to Crawford AuSable Day Care & Preschool for the purchase of supplies to create a transitional preschool program for those too young for preschool.
- $1,250 to Crawford County Community Christian Help Center to add personal hygiene products to their food pantry.
- $1,000 to Crawford AuSable School District for the purchase of a storage shed for the Band Boosters.
- $1,000 to G.R.A.C.E. Center to provide counseling services for children and families that would be unable to receive them otherwise.
- $260 to Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative to hold their EcoCareers Expo for 8th-grade students.
Funding for the NCMCF Community Impact Grants come from the Crawford County Community Needs Endowment Fund, Ogemaw County Community Needs Endowment Fund, Oscoda County Community Needs Endowment Fund and Monnie Orr Memorial Fund. Funding for some health-related grants also comes from the Crawford, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Tobacco Settlement Funds, as well as the Ogemaw County Health Care Initiative Fund and Oscoda County Health Care Initiative Fund.
