There are three different scholarships available, but only one application needs to be completed: Hale Area Education Foundation Scholarship, Beatty Bernard Scholarship, and the Rosetta Stone Scholarship. The due date for submitting an application is March 1st; scholarships are awarded in May.
This fund was established to provide for the salary package, administrative costs, and programming expenses of a Career Development Coordinator (or similar title) who will provide professional advising and academic support services to students in grades 8-12 at Tawas Area Schools with a goal of increasing career/college readiness and post-secondary success.

For this fund, Coastal Properties are those that lie within the Presque Isle Shoreline Conservation Area of the Great Lakes Ecoregion, which extends from the city of Cheboygan in Cheboygan County to the AuSable River in Iosco County. (Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Alpena, Alcona, and Iosco Counties)

This special project fund will be used to build, maintain and provide amenities for a non-motorized pathway along the Au Sable River from Oscoda through Plainfield Township. This pathway will be dedicated to birding, biking, hiking, walking and all non-motorized activities.
This scholarship fund will support students pursuing a career in music or music-related studies, i.e., musician, music teacher, band and/or choir director. Students from Tawas Area High School shall receive first priority; students from other Iosco County schools shall be given second priority; and statewide students shall be given third priority.
The purpose of this endowment fund is threefold: 25% of the spendable balance is be distributed to the St. Joseph Education Foundation for the Benefit of Holy Family School, 25% is to be transferred to the Iosco County Community Needs Endowment Fund specifically to benefit the cities of Tawas City and East Tawas, and the remaining 50% is to be distributed to the Tawas Education Foundation General Fund.

This scholarship provides a very unique and significant opportunity for Iosco County residents looking to expand their knowledge and expertise in the fields of visual arts, drawing, painting, architecture or art history. Currently, this fund generates approximately $50,000 each year to award in scholarships for Iosco County residents attending college or other arts-related programs. Eligible applicants are those who will be attending an accredited institution to major in the arts in the following categories: architectural design, painting, drawing, and/or art history OR will be participating in a visual arts program, camp, apprenticeship or similar study program through a nonprofit organization or accredited institution.
