Community founda ons are unique among charitable organiza ons in that they exist to support the endeavors of a wide variety of groups and causes. We also exist to help donors realize the dream of helping others through financial gi s. We accomplish both of these missions in a way that keeps their gi s here in our community. In most cases, gi s are set up as permanent endowments which provide funding now and for many genera ons to come. We are especially blessed to work on behalf of the people and organiza ons of northeast Michigan to help them open doors and provide opportuni es for our ci zens. We ended our 2015 fiscal year on September 30, 2015, with total assets of $35,058,307. During the year we received $2,010,404 in gi s and awarded grants and scholarships totaling $1,462,703. The Community Founda on for Northeast Michigan Board of Trustees and staff, as well as the boards of our three affiliates, wish to thank our donors for their ongoing support which allows us to con nue to open the doorway to a brighter future in northeast Michigan.
