Jenna Peterson, of Alpena, recently represented youth philanthropists in our region at the 2019 Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) Annual Conference held this month. She was selected to serve as a Co-Chair for the 2019 event, held in Traverse City.
Peterson is a Youth Trustee on the CFNEM Board of Trustees. She is also a member of the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) program, which makes nearly $80,000 in annual grants for youth needs throughout the region.
Peterson was asked to serve as a Co-Chair for the conference as a representative of northern Michigan’s youth communities and Youth Advisory Councils. She has spent time over the past year working on planning committees for the conference’s programming and sessions. During the conference, Peterson introduced Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and two former YAC members for a panel discussion about youth philanthropy in Michigan.

The CMF Annual Conference brings together staff, board members and volunteers from public, corporate, private and family foundations from Michigan and the Midwest, with the purpose of expanding the reach and impact that philanthropic organizations can make locally, nationally and globally. The theme of this year's conference was "Equity, Partnership, Impact".
