This scholarship fund was established to honor Mr. and Mrs. Hoover for their contributions to the Bois Blanc Island Community. This scholarship is for graduating high school students who attended elementary school at Bois Blanc Pines School District for at least two full years, and is seeking to further their education at a post-secondary education program.

This permanently endowed fund will support current and long-term monitoring, management, and protection of Coastal Properties. For this fund, Coastal Properties are those that lie within the Presque Isle Shoreline Conservation Area of the Great Lakes Ecoregion, which extends from the city of Cheboygan in Cheboygan County to the AuSable River in Iosco County. (Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Alpena, Alcona, and Iosco Counties)
