The North Central Michigan Community Foundation (NCMCF) welcomes Jera Eastman, of West Branch, to its Board of Directors.
Eastman has been an associate at Weinlander Fitzhugh for two years, where she does bookkeeping and tax preparation. Having grown up in Fairview in Oscoda County, she now lives with her husband in Ogemaw County, providing a broad knowledge and experience in many of the communities served by NCMCF.
“When I was approached at the end of 2024 about becoming an NCMCF Board member, I was drawn to the positive impact the organization has in our communities,” says Eastman. “I look forward to being able to take part in and see that impact first-hand as a member of the board.”
Eastman is also a member of the West Branch Optimists Club, and volunteers at sporting events at Fairview Area Schools, and youth events at Fairview Mennonite Church.
“We are pleased to have Jera join our great team of leaders from across Crawford, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties,” says Community Foundation Development and Marketing Director, Christine Hitch. “This foundation holds over $6.6 million in community assets benefitting the North Central Michigan region. Its board is represented by individuals, like Jera, who have a passion for service and an appreciation for NCMCF’s vital role in their communities’ present and future. This is so important, and the region will benefit because of it.”
Other NCMCF Board members include Andrea Rose (Board President), Paul Bailey, Randy Booth, Jozann Burgin, Marc Haring, Elizabeth Steinhurst, and Bradley Summers.
The North Central Michigan Community Foundation is a charitable organization committed to providing people who care about the future of our area with unique and effective ways of supporting their community now, and for generations to come. Led by a volunteer board of local citizens, the foundation oversees a group of permanently endowed funds from a wide range of donors. Gifts of all sizes from individuals, families, businesses, and agencies are invested in a balanced, well-managed portfolio to build endowments, enabling support for local community nonprofits now and forever. NCMCF is an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan.
