How the Women's Giving Circle Works
One of the most unique aspects of the Northeast Michigan Women's Giving Circle (WGC) is that members direct where the grant funds will go, to support issues important to women.
Just imagine! If you had the ability to help any cause, what would it be? Now imagine how that cause would be impacted if we could pool our resources to make a real difference in our communities. The possibilities are endless!
To become a member, simply make a gift to the Women's Giving Circle Endowment Fund. Your level of involvement and support is completely your choice. Many members may choose to support the WGC financially, and decide to have this be the extent of their involvement. Others may wish to serve on the WGC grant screening committee, which will conduct the grant cycles. Then there will be members in between - supporting financially and encouraging area nonprofits to apply for the grants to help an issue they feel is truly important.
WGC Members may:
- Support financially
- Form a smaller giving circle as part of the WGC
- Serve on the grant screening committee (if randomly chosen)
- Contact Community Foundation staff regarding issues they deem important
- Distribute grant applications to community organizations, encouraging them to apply
Joining the Northeast Michigan Women's Giving Circle is easy! A gift to the WGC endowment fund makes you a member.
