The Iosco County Community Foundation partners with individuals, families, and businesses to support meaningful philanthropy. Many donors give to the Community Improvement Fund, which provides flexible, year-to-year grant dollars to address evolving needs across Iosco County. A Fund for the Community allows you to create an endowed fund in your name or in honor of a loved one while strengthening and complementing the Community Improvement Fund. These funds generate annual grants that expand the Foundation’s ability to serve the region.
- Funds for the Community can be named. For example, the William and Marcia Hopcroft Fund and Reitz Family Fund are Funds for the Community that recognize those who feel a connection to the area and care about the future of Iosco County.
- The minimum to start a Fund for the Community is $5,000.
- Donors can start a Fund for the Community at one time, or grow the Fund to the minimum over 3 years. Continued contributions will allow for greater grant-making moving forward.
- Your Fund for the Community will complement Iosco County Community Improvement grantmaking.
- Dollars produced by Funds for the Community will increase grant money available from the Iosco County Community Improvement Fund for a greater investment in Iosco County. Those grants are given to local nonprofits each year to make a difference close to home.
- Funds for the Community are eligible to receive Qualified Charitable Distributions from a donor's IRA.
When you establish a Fund for the Community, you are giving with an awareness that the future holds more than we can imagine. Giving back with a Fund for the Community can accomplish more…forever.
