SACF Grants

Straits Area Community Foundation (SACF) serves Cheboygan County and Mackinaw City.  SACF awards three different types of grants throughout the year:

Common Grants are awarded from the Straits Area Community Needs Fund to non-profits that serve Cheboygan County and Mackinaw City.  Grants are used to fund programs and projects that benefit this geographical area.

Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Grants are awarded to non-profits through the Straits Area YAC (SAYAC) - a group of students from Cheboygan County and Mackinaw City working to better the lives of other youth in their communities.  All parochial and public schools must apply for grants through SAYAC.  Projects and programs must benefit the youth of the Straits Area under the age of 18.

Tobacco Grants are awarded to area non-profits to fund projects and programs that support smoking cessation and tobacco-use prevention for youth under the age of 18 and senior citizens (65 and over).
